Massaging sore spots with capsaicin cream might also ease pain, although it can take several months to see significant benefits. Exercise is often the most effective option. A 2007 review of 31 studies that examined non-drug treatments concluded that low- to-moderate intensity aerobic exercise such as walking or water exercise can improve symptoms and increase well-being in patients with fibromyalgia.” This excerpt appeared in the May 2008 issue of Consumer Reports on Health.
